Betsey was born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She is a 2008 Louisiana State University graduate and 2012 University of Mississippi Law School graduate. Betsey is a full-time working mother to one beautiful little girl and a step-mother to three boys. A licensed attorney and former college instructor at the University of Mississippi, Betsey works as an Independent Financial Advisor with Trinity Investment Services in Gulfport, and life coach with Betsey Sawyer Coaching. Betsey possesses a true heart for service. In addition to serving on the SME board, she is a lector and the Annulment Coordinator at her parish, Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis. A faithful Catholic, Betsey is excited to advance the ministry of Stella Maris Explorers in her role as Program Expansion Committee Co-Chair.
