Our Flagship Program: the Explorers Club

The Explorers Club is a weekly (Thursday mornings) enrichment club for PK3 - 7th grade homeschooling students in the greater Biloxi area. Club meetings provide our explorers the opportunity for rigorous unit-based science study, high quality visual art creation, meaningful faith lessons, and socialization with their peers. Our aim is to illuminate the beauty, wonder, and goodness of God through our work.

SME has been blessed with expansive growth over the last two years. We've grown from only serving PK4-3rd graders in our first semester (Fall 2022) to serving PK3 to 5th graders plus a sibling extension program in this last semester (Spring 2024). We are working on the creation of a dedicated teen program (8th-12th, hopefully debuting this Fall 2024) and we're also expanding the Explorers Club through 7th grade. The 2024-25 academic year for Explorers Club will see two big changes: 1. a dedicated faith learning block for all age groups; and 2. another age group - the Narwhal Navigators for 5th - 7th graders. The Narwhal Navigators will join the existing groups: Mini-Manatees (PK3&4); Sea Turtle Scouts (will become K&1st); Dolphin Discoverers (will become 2nd-4th); and we'll still have the Crawfish Cruisers in the nursery.

Registration for new families for the 2024-25 academic year is open and will run until the groups are full or until the end of July. Register here

Our Other Programs

In addition to the Explorers Club, Stella Maris Explorers hosts a handful of community event each year working with St. Michael Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #16992 such as the All Saints Festival and Art Contest (see last year's winners) in November and the children's May Crowning in May. New for 2024, SME will be hosting a children's Shrimp Boat Building Workshop in preparation for the Blessing of the Fleet in July. Additionally, we have an exciting teen program in the works that would run concurrently with our Explorers Club program.
